What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is an effective and scientific system of healing which assists the body to heal itself. Homeopathy works by stimulating the body’s own natural defence mechanism to heal itself. Although gentle, the results can be powerful and long lasting.
Homoeopathy is holistic in its approach in that it treats the whole person and not just their symptoms. As a result, you are given the time and space to explain your symptoms in your own way.
With this information, the homoeopath decides on a matching homoeopathic remedy. The remedy acts like a key to the body, starting your own body’s remarkable healing process.
About Homoeopathic Remedies
Homoeopathic remedies are made from natural substances. They are safe, non-addictive and side effect free and can be used even during pregnancy. This is because only a very minute amount of the active ingredient is used in a specially prepared form. Homeopathic remedies are given either as small pleasant tasting pills which dissolve in the mouth or in liquid form.
Homoeopathy can be safely used either alone or alongside conventional medicine. However, any medications prescribed by your own doctor should only be stopped or changed under his / her supervision. Homoeopathic treatment is best undertaken with the guidance of a qualified, professional homoeopath.
Who can benefit from homoeopathy?
Homeopathy has proven itself useful in successfully treating many conditions in millions of patients worldwide. It is gentle enough even for babies, pregnant women and the elderly. Homeopathy is used to treat physical as well as mental and emotional conditions. One in four Europeans now uses homoeopathy on a regular basis and the World Health Organization advocates the use of homeopathy.
What is treatment like?
In homoeopathy, treatment is about the person and not just their symptoms. As a result, the typical first appointment will take one hour with follow up appointments taking 45 minutes. This is to allow you time and space to be heard – often healing in itself. Treatment consists of an initial consultation with a follow up to monitor progress. The relevant remedy may be given in either pill or drop form. Depending on the nature of the illness, further appointments may be necessary. |
